Voluntary arts groups from across west Cheshire are invited to a networking event on Saturday 24 February. The meeting will take place from 10am to 1.30pm at the Tarvin Community Centre.
Arts groups will be able to hear a number of speakers on a range of interesting topics as well as network with each other.
There will be an Open Forum session, this is an informal networking opportunity for attendees to discuss and share ideas on a range of topics, issues of interest like funding, growing audiences, youth membership.
- Sean Ray, Social Activities Co-ordinator at Age UK Cheshire, talking to about ‘Castle Community Centre Projects’
- Jo Sykes discussing the Mystery Plays and how they engage with volunteers
- Gina Bebbington (Communication Lead at Cheshire West and Chester Council and former Chief Reporter at The Northwich Guardian) offering ‘Tips for getting published in a newspaper’
- Katherine West, Cultural Services Manager, Cheshire West and Chester Council will also be giving an update about Cultural Developments across West Cheshire.
The event is jointly hosted by the Cheshire West Voluntary Arts Network and Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Arts Team who have been working together to create the morning’s event.
Councillor Louise Gittins, Cabinet Member Communities and Wellbeing said: “This is set to be a very informative event for arts groups across the borough. The line-up of guest speakers will be sharing a lot of useful information for all organisations.
“This is a great opportunity for Voluntary Arts organisations to get together, network, find solutions and get support for some of the issues that they face. Everyone taking part will also have the opportunity to share their organisations’ publicity materials. I hope as many arts groups as possible are able to join us and I look forward to meeting with them.”
