Works will affect Hooton Railway Station car park this weekend

27 November 2018

The car park at Hooton Railway Station will be partly closed this weekend for footway improvement works and resurfacing of the access road.

On Saturday 1 December access to the car park and station will be maintained as usual but on Sunday 2 December the car park will be fully closed from 8am until approximately 11am.

When the car park reopens, access to the car park will be via the exit only for Sunday only.  The gyratory loop leading to the station itself will also be closed for most of the day (until approximately 3pm) to allow contractors to work safely.

The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Karen Shore said: “Please allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative arrangements if you were planning to use the car park at Hooton Station on Sunday 2 December.  We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.” Pedestrian access to the station will be maintained throughout the day. Trains will still be running and stopping at Hooton as per the timetable.
