Local Bike Marking event at Helsby High School - 27-02-2016

Alert message sent 27/02/2016 15:03:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

The bike marking event held today by Cheshire Police in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council was a success. In total 19 bikes were marked with bike owners coming from Kingsley, Runcorn, Frodsham and Helsby. Some of the bike owners who came to get their bikes marked were recent victims of the bike thefts that have taken place in the local area.

PCSO Neil Flanagan and PCSO Phil Brandreth were also able to give out Selecta DNA packs to the Frodsham residents as part of the on-going 'Operation Shield'. This is another crime prevention operation being run by Cheshire Police and another way of hopefully preventing offenders in the area committing crime.

Due to the success of today there will be more bike marking events coming up around the Kingsley, Frodsham and Helsby area moving forward.
