Cycle law enforcement

Alert message sent 05/10/2017 15:43:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Warrington Police have had numerous complaints about Children/teenagers cycling on pavements aggressively around Stockton Heath Village.

One of the main complaints is kids wheelieing down London Road with no consideration for pedestrians or other vehicles on the road.

Due to the volume of complaints the village will be subject of cycle law enforcement over the coming weeks beginning tomorrow.

Can Cheshire Police also point out that cycling on pavements is an offence.

Laws HA 1835 sect 72 & R(S)A sect 129

Anybody stopped and checked riding on the pavement will be given advice before any tickets will be issued.

Could you please advise your children about the imminent enforcement to prevent any tickets being issued and hopefully reduce the number of complaints received.
