Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Norton North

 

June 2018

Burglary / theft – There has been 1 burglary in a dwelling at Portsmouth Place, Murdishaw whereby bricks have been used to smash the patio window, no specific time of day, nothing taken from property. The has been 1 theft from a motor vehicle near to Preston Brook Marina where a number of fishing items were taken and also a theft of a garden gate from Humphreys Close.

 

ASB/criminal damage – A criminal damage incident of note for June is a smashed window on a property at Exmouth Crescent, Murdishaw. In terms of anti-social behavior there has been a decrease in reports from last month however there was a string of incidents on Chiswick Close, the youths involved have been identified and spoken to by an officer.

 

Suspicious activity – Home-made snare trap made out of washing line found by a member of the public in Murdishaw wood. Caller removed the snare so it is no longer a danger to animals. Also of note a report of a group of youths believed to be smoking cannabis on Gorsewood play park, a patrol attended shortly after and the youths had already left the area.

 

Roads Policing – No major roads policing incidents on Norton North in June other than a close call with some escaped cows from Red Brow Lane that almost made it onto Barnfield Avenue. Speed enforcement continues to be carried out on Norton Station Road where activations have generally shown a decrease over the last couple of months. Enforcement will be carried out on Murdishaw Avenue once Halton Borough Council fix a damaged speed sign which has been reported.
