Crime update –
  • Attempted robbery on 8th April at 10:30hrs in the Sextant Close area. Male was asked to hand over his pushbike by offender described as wearing a bubble coat in black, unknown age, 6ft 2, slim build, local accent, neck warmer over face, hood up. When the victim refused the male then then brought out a butter knife and he has slashed his right cheek. No major injuries, victim managed to ride off on push bike. CID dealing.
  • Between 12th and 15th of April a vehicle belonging to a resident of Petersgate suffered criminal damage on 3 occasions. If you live in the area and have CCTV the vehicle in question is a Purple Citreon C4. Send me an e-mail if you have any information on this.
  • 18th April at 3:20hrs a van was set alight on the field at the rear of St Martins Primary School, fire service attended and the vehicle was removed from the area. Believed to be a deliberate ignition.
  • 23rd April 13:00hrs reports of a window smashed on a Weymouth Close property. Occurred at the rear of the premises by unknown means, no CCTV or witnesses.
  • 2nd April at 19:15hrs reports of youths causing issues around the area of Sockham Ski Slopes. There was patrol in the area that evening who spoke to the youths, no reports since.
  • 3rd April at 18:30hrs reports of off-road dirt bikes using the wooded area at the rear of Fernwood in Norton. OP scrambler is still running and any information on off-road bikes is best reported through quoting OP scrambler.
Suspicious activity –
  • 6th April at 13:30hrs there was a report of a white van driving very slowly around the Broadfields area of Norton potentially looking into properties. The VRM of the vehicle was passed, checks were run and no further issues came of this.
  • 25th April at 16:50hrs reports of a male knocking on an address claiming to be from British Gas, occupants were unaware of any issue with their boiler. Further enquiries suggest this may have been a case of mistaken address however always challenge for ID and contact 101 or the company said person is claiming to be a part of if you have doubts.
Roads Policing –
  • On-going parking issues in the areas of Barnfield Ave and Delphield due to work being carried out at Runcorn East train station. A number of advisory notices and FPNs have been issued. Advice has been given to residents and station users directly and via social media.
  • Speed enforcement has been continuing on Norton Station Road however the number of activations has dropped over the past months, if you have any other roads of concern please make us aware.
  • Fail to stop driving offence in the Humpreys Close area on 16th April at 13:20hrs, driver made off after mounting grassed area. Vehicle was recovered, suspect identified.
Schools/community events –
  • Gorsewood Pre-School will be used on Thursday 2nd May 2019 as a local election ballot station
  • I will be attending Gorsewood Primary School and St Martins Primary School as part of my regular patrol plan.
