Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Dear Horse watch member

After a slight rise in equine related crime or incidents reported to us over the past few weeks it has now reduced and there no equine related issues to feedback, however there are a couple of incidents to make you aware of that are still relevant.

A suspicious vehicle was reported to be in the area of Frog Lane, Pickmere, Knutsford. This was reported to us due to recent thefts of wooded field gates in the area.
A white van has been seen at farms in Bosley (Macclesfield) and Weston (Crewe) with a male driver selling tools out the back of the van. It is not known to us if the vehicles / drivers are linked.

A male has attended a farm in Church Lawton (Crewe) offering to work on the drive way, the reporting person felt he was casing the farm and not a genuine offer of work. He also went to the neighbouring farm so it is likely he went to others also.

Please spread the word about the Horse Watch scheme and remember this is your scheme so the more information we can share the better we can make it work. You can reply to the alerts or email
Thank you
