Poynton and Neighbouring Villages October Newsletter

A warm welcome to all our new Cheshire Alert members. I am hoping to start back up a monthly Newsletter of what has been happening during the previous month in Poynton and its surrounding areas.

Overnight 2nd-3rd October a rear window to a vehicle parked on London Road North was smashed by unknown means. Nothing appears to have been stolen from the vehicle. IML-819200.

Overnight 28-29th October a number of vehicles were damaged on Abbey Court with a sharp implement. IML-838955. Enquires are continuing.

A number of anti-social behaviour incidents have been reported across Poynton during the month of October relating to large groups of youths, fireworks being set off in the direction of cars and houses on Copperfield Road and eggs being thrown at houses. Extra Officers were deployed in Poynton over the Halloween weekend and we were pleased to report a decrease in ASB calls over that period.

On 15th October a vehicle that failed to stop for Roads Policing Officers was stung on London Road North by Officers and 2 persons decamped from the vehicle. One of the persons was located nearby and arrested for a number of drug and vehicle offences.

Over the month of October three persons have received cannabis warning’s after being found smoking it in a public place.

Over the month, two drivers have been reported for driving with no valid insurance. These drivers now face 6 points on their licence and a fine.

Over the month two drivers have been arrested on suspicion of drink driving. These drivers will now face a day in court and a potential driving ban.
