Royal Mail scam text message arrests

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary


In March this year we warned residents about a fraudulent text message claiming to be from the Royal mail.

On 24th May officers from police forces across England arrested 8 men in raids London, Coventry, Birmingham and Colchester


The operations on Monday in took place during a week of action by officers from the Dedicated Card and Payment Crime Unit (DCPCU).

Seven of those arrested have been released under investigation, while one suspect from Enfield, north London, has been charged and remanded in custody ahead of a court appearance in June.
