Remembrance Parades 2017

There are a number of Remembrance parades and services taking place across Cheshire West and Chester for Remembrance Sunday 2017. If you would like your service adding to this page, please email


Barnton's Remembrance Service will be held on Sunday 12 November 10.30am from Christchurch, parade to Jubilee Corner for 11.15am/11.30am and Barnton Silver Band will be in attendance. Three wreaths will be laid, Barnton Parish Council, Barnton Silver Band and Scouts. The parade will then move onto the Barn Owl for dismissal. Refreshments will be served afterwards  at the Scout Hall, provided by Hayes Funeral Directors.


Chester's Remembrance Sunday Service takes place at Chester Cathedral on Sunday 12 November at 10am.


The Remembrance Parade and Service will take place on Sunday 12 November, meeting at the Royal British Legion HQ, Firthfields for 9.45am. The parade will move off at 10.05am. The Service starts at 10.30am at St Wilfrid's Church. The Last Post will be sounded in church at 11am and again at the wreath laying ceremony. Refreshments at the Legion from 12pm.

Ellesmere Port, Civic Square

Sunday 12 November starting at 10.40am at the War Memorial, Civic Square. Laying of wreaths at 10.45am, 11.05am parade to St Thomas' and All Saints Church. The parade will held back to the Civic Square at 12.30pm for refreshments at the Civic Hall following the church service.

Ellesmere Port, Westminster

Sunday 12 November starting at 9.30am at Westminster War Memorial. Laying of wreaths and service led by Reverend Gordon Walsh.


The Act of Remembrance is at 11am by the war memorial on Sunday 12 November. The Remembrance service takes place straight after for those who wish to attend.


On Saturday 11 November there is a short service and wreath laying ceremony at Father Michael Mills at the Monument on the Hill at 11am, followed by refreshments at Forest Hills Hotel. There is also a service on Sunday 12 November at St Laurence Church at 10am. Following the service there will be a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph outside the church.

Guilden Sutton

A Service of Remembrance will be held in St John the Baptist Church, Guilden Sutton at 10.10am on Sunday 12 November followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial (bottom of School Lane) at 11am.


St Paul's Church, Helsby will be the venue for Helsby’s Remembrance Day Service taking place on Sunday, 12 November at 10.50am in time for the gathering around the Memorial Monument (within the grounds of the church) at 11am for poppy rreath laying and roll call. 


The Huntington Remembrance Service takes place on Sunday 12 November from 10.30am at St Lukes Church.


A civic service with the Mayor of Ellesmere Port will be held at St James Church, Ince on Sunday 12 November, 6pm - 7pm.


Remembrance Service takes place on Sunday 12 November at the Methodist Church at 2pm.

Little Sutton

Sunday 12 November, starting at 1.30pm with the parade from Little Sutton British Legion. Laying of wreaths and church service will take place at St Paul's Church from 2pm.


Remembrance Parade in Malpas Village and St Oswald's Church. Parade starts from High Street at 10am.


Remembrance Parade in Neston, Willaston takes place on Sunday, 12 November. Parade from Royal British Legion at 2.30pm. Church service at 3pm. Wreath laying at 4pm. 


The  event takes place on Remembrance Sunday, 12 November, and will involve a parade assembling at Crum Hill, adjacent to the police station, at 9.15am. Those in attendance will march along Chesterway, into Church Road and on to St Helen’s Church for the Service of Remembrance at 10am.


A Service of Remembrance will be held at St Peter's Plemstall at 10.55am on Sunday 12 November.

Poulton and Pulford

There will be a service at the Village Hall Memorial conducted by Rector Roger Clark from 10.30am on Saturday 11 November followed by refreshments in the Village Hall. All are welcome.

Sandiway and Cuddington

The parade will assemble at Sandiway Library, Mere Lane at 10.15am to march at 10.30am. The Remembrance Day Sunday service will be held at St John's Church, Norley Road at 11am following the silence and laying of wreaths.


There will be a small service at the war memorial at 11am on Sunday 12 November. An ecumenical service will also take place at the Vernon Institute, Saughall at 2pm, followed by refreshments and a display of WW1 silk postcards. Everyone welcome.


Sunday 12 November at 10am, the parade is departing from Tarporley Community Centre. There will be a service after in St Helen's Church.


Sunday 12 November at Tarvin War Memorial and St Andrew's Church from 10.55am.


Service takes place at St Alban's Church at 10am. Followed by the laying of the wreaths and two minutes silence at 11am at the Village War Memorial. Refreshments will be served in the Barbour Institute after the service.


The Royal British Legion (R.B.L) will be holding their annual Remembrance Parade/Service on Sunday 12 November 2017. The Parade and Service of Remembrance starts at the R.B.L on Heath Lane, Upton-By-Chester.


The Remembrance parade will leave the shops in Northwich Road at 2.45pm on Sunday and will march to St Mary’s Church for the service at 3pm, followed by tea and coffee in Church House.


Winsford's Remembrance Sunday Service takes place on Sunday 12 November. The parade will assemble on the driveway to Wyvern House, The Drumber CW7 1AH and will march off at around 10.25am led by (marching band TBC). The service will commence at 10.45am at the War Memorials in the Fountain Court on the Winsford Cross Shopping Centre, and everyone is welcome to attend.
